Rome, Italy - Andy Warhol. Pentiti e non peccare più! Bramante's Cloister beside the Church of Santa Maria della Pace celebrates ten years of activity with an exceptional exhibition dedicated to the great Andy Warhol that is centred on spirituality. This exhibition, which explores the historic phrase Jesus said to Mary Magdalene, allows us to enter into the complexity and profundity of Warhol's thought. Warhol does not limit himself to the question of believing and not believing, he personalizes the issue, starting with the most difficult questions that it raises. Portugal - In 2006, Portugal marks the 250th anniversary of the Douro Wine Region, home to the production of world famous Porto, or Port wine. The Douro Region was the first designated wine region in a system meant to regular wine trade and production. Along the hillsides and through the vineyards, men will carry grape-gathering baskets on their backs, while the women chant traditional songs. Ponte da Barca, Tabuaço or Peso da Régua are only a few of the places where the Festival of the Grape-Gathering is central to the cycle of the year. At the vineyard Lagarada in Douro, visitors can even join in the grape crushing at The Quinta da Pacheca, every day at about 6 pm. The creation of the wine region in 1756 ultimately served as a model of wine trade regulation for other parts of Portugal and in other wine-producing areas of Europe. Celebrations of the 250th anniversary are planned throughout the region and include culinary and architectural competitions, harvest festivals, parades, concerts, a marathon, traditional and contemporary art showings, film festivals, street theater, 18th century banquets and marketplaces, a Port wine auction, a boating exhibition, and numerous educational seminars and conferences. All are designed to focus on the quality of the wine and the authenticity of the area's traditions and culture. The Douro region and the administration of the industry have changed over the centuries, but it remains the center of the production of quality wine. UNESCO recognized the region as a World Heritage site in 2001.
